Belhassen is a well-travelled multilingual operative, who has led culturally diverse and geographically dispersed workforces across several countries in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia Pacific over the course of his vocational journey.
As a Senior Executive Manager, I lead the Non-Life segment of the reinsurance business across the MENA region. With over 18 years of experience in the insurance industry, I have a proven track record of designing and executing strategies for the entire reinsurance value chain. I also provide consultancy services and product development capabilities to our clients in the fields of Financial Solutions, Innovation, and Data Analytics.
In addition to my current role, I have held various leadership positions within Munich Re, including General Manager: Non-Life and Deputy CEO MR Beijing. I have relocated to South Africa to lead the Non-Life reinsurance business across 45 African countries, excluding Maghreb. I am passionate about serving direct clients and providing practical support on insurance business innovation to benefit end-users. I hold an MBA from Ecole Nationale d’assurances Paris and an Advanced International Corporate Finance degree from INSEAD.
A Statistician with Business Economics and Commercial background, Belhassen holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Risk Management and Insurance Techniques, his MBA in Management of Insurance Companies, and INSEAD programme in Advanced International Corporate Finance.
