HAITHAM AL KHAZALEH

DIRECTOR OF UNDERWRITING AND REINSURANCE, ETIHAD CREDIT INSURANCE (ECI)

Haitham is the Director of Underwriting and Reinsurance at Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI), bringing 18+ years of credit and underwriting expertise to the role. Over his 7+ years with ECI, he has helped shape the company’s risk strategy and underwriting framework, covering credit risk assessment and rating, risk underwriting, commercial underwriting, and reinsurance operations.

He first joined ECI in 2018 and returned in 2025 with expanded responsibilities, including commercial underwriting.

Before rejoining ECI, Haitham led Public Sector Solutions for the Middle East and Africa at Swiss Re, based in Zurich. From 2008 to 2018, he held senior positions in trade credit and underwriting at global leaders Coface and Allianz Trade.

Haitham holds an MBA from the University of Dubai and an Advanced Certificate in Trade Credit Insurance from the University of Offenburg, Germany. He continues to expand his expertise through active participation in international programs and industry forums, positioning himself as a thought leader in the evolving landscape of Credit and Export Credit agencies.
