In 2027, the Dubai World Insurance Congress (DWIC) will celebrate its 10th anniversary—a significant milestone in the event’s remarkable journey. Since launching in 2017 with just 500 attendees, DWIC has grown into one of the industry’s leading global gatherings. In 2027, we anticipate welcoming more than 2,000 delegates, representing four-fold growth over the past decade. Today, the DWIC community spans more than 85 countries, bringing together leaders, innovators and decision-makers from across the global insurance and reinsurance markets.
Our journey has been shaped by a sustained growth and an enduring drive to evolve. Together, we navigated unprecedented challenges, including delivering the first major international insurance event following the COVID-19 lockdowns. More recently, we remained true to our commitment to the market by ensuring DWIC 2026 took place in 2026, adapting swiftly to regional conflict with a rescheduled event in December.
Over the past ten years, DWIC has become more than an annual conference. It is a global community built on collaboration, trust and shared ambition. As we celebrate this milestone, we also look ahead to the next decade of connecting markets, fostering innovation and shaping the future of insurance together.
After a disrupted 2026, the 10th DWIC is not simply another edition. It is a moment to bring the market back together and look at what has remained constant while everything else has shifted.
DWIC 2027: Consistency in a changing market
For a decade, DWIC has brought the global insurance and reinsurance community together in Dubai.
The market has changed considerably over those ten years. New risks have emerged, capital has evolved, technology has transformed how the industry operates and the relationships that underpin the market have continued to matter.
As DWIC enters its tenth edition, that feels particularly relevant.
Because in a changing market, consistency matters.
Consistency in the relationships we build.
Consistency in the conversations we have.
Consistency in showing up for the market, even when circumstances change.
DWIC 2027 is an opportunity to reconnect, reflect on how the market has evolved and look ahead to what comes next.
Under the theme “Reinsurance 2036: The Next Decade Starts Now” DWIC will bring together global industry leaders to explore how the reinsurance market can build resilience in an era of geoeconomic uncertainty, climate volatility, technological disruption and evolving capital markets. Through keynote presentations, executive panels and leadership discussions, delegates will examine the forces shaping the global risk landscape—from geoeconomic fragmentation and emerging systemic risks to the future of reinsurance capital, underwriting in an increasingly volatile world, and the changing expectations of investors, clients and regulators.
The three-day programme explores the forces shaping the next decade, from artificial intelligence and talent to climate risk, cyber threats and emerging systemic risks.
The Dubai World Insurance Congress first launched in 2017 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the global reinsurance market. Building on the success of delivering Multaqa Qatar for the previous decade, Global Reinsurance introduced a new vision: to create an international event centred around Dubai and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), bringing together the world’s insurance and reinsurance community in one of the fastest-growing financial centres.
That vision has become a reality. Today, the DIFC is recognised as one of the world’s leading financial hubs, providing the ideal home for DWIC. As the event has grown in scale and international reach, Dubai has established itself as a strategic gateway connecting markets across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and beyond, making DWIC a truly global meeting place for the industry’s leaders.
As well as providing the perfect opportunity to reconnect with existing clients and partners, DWIC is where new business relationships begin. Networking is at the heart of the event, bringing together senior decision-makers from across the global insurance and reinsurance market. Through the online meeting scheduler, delegates can arrange a full programme of business meetings before they arrive, ensuring they make the most of their time onsite. From first introductions to strategic partnerships, DWIC is where conversations turn into opportunities—and where business gets done.
